NICO EXCURSIONS

Sainte-Rose - 34km - 46min

every day by reservation departure 7:45 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Discover the lagoon and its mangrove in 7 stages*, including 4 swimming/snorkeling trips.📷

Prologue: During the walk, in addition to explanations of each stage, you'll learn about the history of the Grand Cul de Sac Marin, le rocher de la tête à l'anglais, kahouane, l'ile de Monserrat, la rivière salée, the origin of the names of the two Guadeloupe islands, corals, the history of Le Lamentin and its attempted reintroduction, the coral reef, seagrass beds and mangroves. And if you want more, I invite you to ask me questions.

STAGE 1 L'îlet blanc: A mysterious islet of white sand created in a single night. We'll explain its incredible history and its importance for the reproduction of an endangered species. Without disembarking

STAGE 2 L'îlet aux oiseaux: A mangrove islet full of bird species. Each species will be seen in detail, along with their behavior.

STAGE 3 The wreck: Our first swim, with mask and snorkel, will be on a 17-meter-long steel wreck, flush with the water, which for over 50 years has formed a biotope with a sensational ecosystem filled with numerous species.

STAGE 4 Starfish: During our second swim, on white sand near the seagrass beds, you'll see gigantic starfish and perhaps its predator, rays and my friend Barracudaaa.

STAGE 5 The natural swimming pool: waist-deep turquoise water 3km from the coast... a dream come true. With lots of little coral reefs all around. Neptune's brains, spyrographs, anemones, tree sponge forests and fish are all here.

STAGE 6 La Mangrove maritime: Our last swim, in the mangrove in the middle of the lagoon, against a backdrop of white sand and knee-deep turquoise water. But how is this possible? Everything will be explained before your swim, so that you can enjoy the richness of this ecosystem, appreciate its true value and understand its importance.

STAGE 7 Les îlets du carénage: Much denser mangrove islets with a very special history, where we'll venture out to observe the inhabitants from the boat.

BONUS: A tasting of homemade planteur. The captain will share his recipe with you. Well, for me it'll be fruit juice, I've got to get you back to port!
