The Esprit Parc National label is a recognition mark awarded by France's National Parks. The label highlights products, services and expertise that contribute to the preservation and enhancement of the natural and cultural heritage of the French national parks.

To receive the Esprit Parc National label, products and services must meet strict quality and sustainability criteria, including :

Mandatory criteria

Physical welcome of customers mandatory.

No olfactory, visual, sound or radio-electrical pollution.

No invasive species: exterior plantings do not contain or allow the spread of invasive species.

Installation of at least three energy-saving devices in rooms.

Installation of at least two water-saving devices in rooms.

Use of at least three eco-certified or natural cleaning products.

No use of synthetic chemicals or pesticides.

Selective waste sorting.

Raising guests' awareness of heritage protection and responsible behavior in the natural environment.

Q1 - What is the Green Key label?
Clef Verte, known internationally as Green Key, is an eco-label awarded to tourist accommodation committed to environmental practices, which are assessed and renewed annually.
Q2 - Since when has Habitation Caféière Samana Beauséjour held the certification?
Our guesthouse in Pointe-Noire, Guadeloupe, has held the Green Key certification since 2022 and the Guadeloupe National Park Spirit certification since 2023.
Q3 - What specific environmental commitments do you put into practice?
Our day-to-day measures include: 43 per cent of our electricity generated by solar panels, solar-heated hot water, rainwater collected for flushing toilets and washing laundry, eco-labelled cleaning products, regulated air conditioning (7.30 pm–7.30 am) and responsible management of household linen.
Q4 - Are your swimming pools heated?
No. To save energy, our private swimming pools are not heated: a very dark pool lining absorbs solar radiation and keeps the water at a comfortable temperature, which does not fall below 26 °C (79 °F) in winter. During the summer rainy season, the temperature can rise to 33 °C (91,4 °F).
Q5 - Why isn’t the air conditioning on all day?
It runs from 7.30 pm to 7.30 am. This decision reduces our CO₂ emissions and protects the environment — air conditioning accounts for around 5 per cent of global energy-related CO₂ emissions (International Institute of Refrigeration, 2024) — whilst ensuring your comfort at night.

On the contrary. Our 5★ resort combines top-of-the-range comfort with a commitment to the environment: high-quality facilities and a sustainable approach are not mutually exclusive; they reinforce one another.
