On 28 July 2026, the daily newspaper France-Antilles Guadeloupe dedicated its front page and a full page to our guesthouse in Pointe-Noire, which has once again been honoured with TripAdvisor’s Travellers’ Choice ‘Best of the Best’ award.

A wonderful accolade for Habitation Caféière Samana Beauséjour. In its edition of Tuesday 28 July 2026 (no. 16538), the daily newspaper France-Antilles Guadeloupe chose to feature our guesthouse on the front page, before devoting a full article to it in its Nord Basse-Terre section, written by journalist Yolande Éliézer.

A fourth consecutive accolade
"It was with immense joy that Étienne and Didier welcomed the news", writes France-Antilles: our guesthouse has once again been ranked "Best of the Best’ in TripAdvisor’s Travellers" Choice awards.
Nestled in the hills of Acomat, in Pointe-Noire, the Habitation Caféière Samana Beauséjour has been honoured four times in a row, thanks to the "genuine reviews” from its guests, as Didier Simon, one of the co-managers, explains in the article.
Receiving this distinction, the newspaper notes, means being ranked amongst the top 1 per cent of establishments in its category, geographical area and region of the world.

Atout France 5-star rating since 2023
The guesthouse is also rated 5 stars by Atout France, a distinction it has held since 2023.
Atout France, the sole national operator in the tourism sector
Established in 2009, Atout France is the state’s sole operator in the tourism sector. The Agency is mandated by the Act of 22 July 2009 to promote and develop tourism in France internationally, to support and enhance the competitiveness of public and private tourism stakeholders, and to revitalise the tourism industry as a whole.
The Atout France classification is established with a view to complying with international practices and customer expectations. It takes several criteria into account, the most important of which is the quality of the services and facilities provided. This classification is valid for a period of five years.
Nothing happens by chance
As the article points out, ‘nothing happens by chance’: offering guests the highest standard of hospitality and service is a daily endeavour.
Since taking over the site, the managers have also set about enhancing the heritage and ecological value of one of Pointe-Noire’s gems, surrounded by forest. This commitment to the environment has earned them the Clef Verte label. They also hope that their accommodation will be awarded the Esprit Parc national label by the Guadeloupe National Park.
The "Esprit Parc national" label
Launched in 2015 by the French National Parks and now managed by the French Office for Biodiversity, the "Esprit Parc national" label is awarded, following a selection process, to products or services resulting from economic activities that preserve biodiversity and heritage. It is based on values such as preservation (traditions, local expertise and ways of life close to nature), commitment (support for biodiversity and local stakeholders) and vitality (honouring the exceptional natural environment, local communities and the cultural heritage of national parks).
What is the Travellers’ Choice "Best of the Best" award?
This award recognises the highest level of excellence in travel. It is awarded annually to destinations, establishments (accommodation, restaurants) and activities based on reviews and ratings received from TripAdvisor travellers over a twelve-month period. A total of 8 million pages are analysed. The winners are announced by category and geographical region.
