A cemetery as exceptional as it is surprising. The black and white checkered tombs give the whole place the appearance of giant chessboards perched on the hillside. There are many cemeteries with checkered tombs, but none as large as this one, making it a very popular place for visitors!
Every year on All Saints' Day (November 1st), the Morne à l'Eau cemetery is lit with thousands of candles on its graves. Don't hesitate to visit for a moment of surprising atmosphere if you are in the islands of Guadeloupe during this time!
