The Bologne distillery has preserved the name of the sugar mill's owners from the 17th and 18th centuries. Bologne agricultural rum is distilled from the pure juice of sugarcane harvested on the estate. Located in the communes of Saint-Claude and Basse-Terre, between the Soufrière volcano and the Caribbean Sea, the estate is composed of more than 40 plots, facing due west. Red and black cane are grown on these plots.
